The Winter Sport 5 SUV is Dunlop’s Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter / Snow tire developed for the drivers of sporty and high performance crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks looking for a tire to match the performance capabilities of their vehicles while providing confident traction in cold dry and wet conditions, in addition to slush and snow.
Utilizing a winter-focused compound, the Winter Sport 5 SUV’s directional tread design helps provide grip on wet and slush-covered roads, while the high-density zigzag sipes and block edges aid traction on snow-covered or icy surfaces. A two-ply rayon casing balances handling and durability, and twin steel belts are reinforced by a polyamide cap ply to further increase handling and high-speed capability.
Dunlop Winter Sport 5 SUV winter radials meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Note: Snow platform indicators (the equivalent of “snow wear bars”) are molded into the Winter Sport 5 SUV’s tread grooves to inform the driver when winter traction will be reduced as the tire’s tread reaches the point where the remaining tread depth becomes less effective in deep snow and slush.
