The Dynapro MT2 is Hankook’s Off-Road Maximum Traction tire designed for the drivers of pickup trucks, full-size SUVs, Jeeps and other capable all-terrain vehicles that demand off-road traction, but also require reliable on-road performance.
Hankook utilizes an advanced off-road tread compound molded into their symmetric “Terrain Strike” pattern that features aggressive off-road design elements. The Dynapro MT2’s high-void pattern with prominent stone ejectors helps improve loose surface traction while ensuring larger rocks are dislodged, preventing external damage and loss of traction. Utilizing Hankook’s split mold technology, the Dynapro MT2 features aggressive Wraparound Tread and Sidewall Protection Shields designed to increase traction during off-road maneuvers, while protecting against punctures. This seamlessly linked tread-to-shoulder design also creates a more unified, rigid package, benefiting on-road handling and noise comfort. The interior tread blocks feature a multi-angle design for lateral stability, and sipes that increase biting edges for improved wet and snow traction.
The Dynapro MT2 utilizes a reinforced casing, balancing durability and on-road comfort, combined with high strength steel belts for improved steering performance and impact robustness. A reinforced under-tread and nylon cap ply continue to enhance the Dynapro MT2’s off-road performance, along with a jointless bead wire for low pressure, off-road situations.
While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires, which are often called mud tires, are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the absence of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.
