The Enasave 01 A/S (Energy saver) is Dunlop’s eco-friendly Passenger All-Season tire developed as Original Equipment for the Mitsubishi i MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) city car. In order to match the Mitsubishi i’s high-tech all-electric drive train (no gas tank, no exhaust system and no CO2 vehicle emissions), the Enasave 01 A/S is designed to combine high environmental performance, a quiet ride and year-round traction, including in light snow.

The Enasave 01 A/S features a low rolling resistance tread compound molded into a symmetric design that provides uniform footprint pressure to promote traction while reducing tire energy loss. Independent tread and shoulder blocks bordered by circumferential and lateral grooves blend dry road and wet road capabilities, while strategically placed sipes add extra biting edges to promote snow traction. The tires internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide on top of a polyester cord casing.


  1. These came with my Mirage, 2 out of 4 had bubble after about 45k kilometers on them. That’s very —-ty quality control right there… Had much higher expectations from Dunlop, what disappointment. They aren’t very pothole resistance either, hit something a bit hard and it bursted the front right tire, on a super lightweight Mirage! I guess it makes sense consider how soft/weak the sidewalls are.

  2. These came stock on my ’15 Mirage. After only 20k miles my car just passed inspection but the tires were down to the PA minimum of 3/32″. I rotate them every six months & they have worn evenly but much quicker than I’d like. They are a soft tire & provide a good ride in a car that’s not much more than a closed in go kart however, possibly due to the 165/65R14 size, there’s a lot of roll when cornering. Dry traction is very good & wet/light snow traction is reasonably good as well. They seem a bit noisy but that may have a fair bit to do with the car itself as there isn’t much sound absorbing material anywhere & engine/transmission sounds are quite loud as well. Overall I’d like to find something else to replace these with but I want to stick to the stock size & there’s not many options so I’ll probably end up buying another set.

  3. After just 16k-18k miles, I was told I will need new tires soon, they barely passed inspection here in NY state after one year and 18k miles! Other than that, they’re decent tires, a little loud at highway speeds but also the car has almost no insulation so many things are loud at highway speeds! Also because of the car and these tires doing the speed limit of 55, driving mostly highway miles will get you 50+ mpg despite the EPA’s 42 highway rating. Doing 65 in a 55 and 75 in a 65 will get you around the EPA’s 42 mpg. I have had no major issues with these tires other than the terrible life of these tires…no tires should be worn out from only 16k-18k miles! Sad. I use to be upset when my 2000 and 2005 Neon Goodyear tires(later switched to 60k Cooper tires) were worn out after 36k miles, a little ridiculous Dunlop!

  4. They came standard on my 14 Mirage and now 17 Mirage. The 14 tires seems to have more side wall roll then the ones on my 17. The 17s are great for MPG and are smooth writing if you don’t go over any road imperfections. When you do they act like you ride on bricks. Extremely hard thread and softer sidewall. They wear out evenly and seems to be of quality but purpose built for MPG. Will change them around 20k with some RT43s, but will get the use of them until then…

  5. These tires were purpose designed for the rear axle of the Mitsubishi I-Miev but I am running 4 of them on a 2004 Scion xB. They roll smoothly and have decent dry weather handling and contribute towards improved efficiency, though they are a little noisy on rough pavement at least when you run them at max PSI like I do. I’ve got 35000 miles on this set and they are about worn out, but I will be buying another set. I’m not a really aggressive driver but they grip well enough for everything I want to do, and they behave well enough in snow/ice/wet. No flats or failures.
