The Grandtrek Touring A/S is Dunlop’s Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed to help crossover, sport utility vehicles and light duty pickup trucks meet the on-road challenges of everyday driving. The Grandtrek Touring A/S features Dunlop’s Touch Technology to enhance road feedback and handling in dry and wet conditions, as well as was designed to combine ride and noise comfort with year-round traction, even in light snow.
The Grandtrek Touring A/S molds a tread compound that remains pliable across a wide range of temperatures into an asymmetric tread design to provide all-season traction and handling. Its stiffer outboard tread pattern features a notched outboard shoulder supported by a circumferential rib to enhance ride comfort, steering response and stability on the road. Siped central tread blocks along with independent inboard shoulder blocks enhance all-season traction and braking in light snow and stormy weather.
The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop’s JointLess Band (JLB) of spirally wrapped nylon under the tread to provide strength on top of a polyester cord body that helps cushion the ride. All sizes of the Grandtrek Touring A/S come with a flanged lower sidewall to help reduce the possibility of curb damage to expensive wheels.
Founder at Tiresout. Used to be working as an engineer at Bridgestone Tires Akron Technical Center. The responsibilities included but were not limited to technical computing, indoor & outdoor testing of new tires.
Replaced these tires at 17,000 miles with Continental ECO 50,000 + miles later – I had them reinstall the Dunlop’s to trade the vehicle in. The mechanic asked me why. Apparently he could not tell which tire looked better and thought it would be a waste of my money to do so.
I bought these tires because I was recommended by one of my buddies who owned the same vehicle like mine and he said Dunlop tires came originally with his vehicle and that they were great, my vehicle is 2013 LEXUS RX450h and factory tires came with Bridgestone Dueler which I didn’t like much either, because the tread would get bold so fast, but they were definitely better than DUNLOP trash, also the reason I bought them was because I got 4 brand new set of Dunlop for $520 which were dirt cheap comparing to Bridgestone Dueler or Michelin Premier LTX which cost close to $1000, but I regret it very much for not buying those because now I have to spend close $1000 anyways when instead I would still be using one of two mentioned above. My Dunlop Grandtrek still have a lot of tread in them, its just the noise problem is ridiculously loud, I feel like Im driving 1950 Ford with the noise I hear from font tires, they are loud and scary, they make you think that your car has a steering or shocks problem, I went to mechanic shop 2 times to get checked and both times the mechanic recommended me to change my —-ty tires!DONT BUY THIS GARBAGE !
Great tire if you don’t mind buying new ones every 20K miles. With the 280 treadwear rating I knew they wouldn’t wear very long but they came brand new with my CPO Lexus RX350. I normally don’t buy any tire that has less than a 400 treadwear rating and now I know why. I would expect to get at least 30-40K miles with any tire for this car.
was side by side a similar vehicle with Michelin’s. There was more tread on the Michelin with over 10k more miles than the Dunlap. Not sure why Lexus would compromise ride and handling for a cheaper tire.
These came new on a CPO ’15 RX350. This is ‘V2’ made in Japan. Can not think of any worse tire that I’ve driven on.Absolute junk. Hard ride. Resonant/radiated noises. Tread squeal noises. Bad mileage, worse mileage when cold. Mild grip in the dry. Low grip in the wet. Next to none in the snow. No ice traction. And the cherry, rapid tire wear.Hope someone was fired at Toyota for choosing such a terrible tire for their Lexus {Luxury EXport United States} product.and it doesn’t help that the OEM wheels {19″ 15 spoke} are overweight-35 pounds
I see a ton of negative reviews due to tire wear but people are forgetting that this tire is a 200 Treadwear rating so it will definitely wear similar to a summer tire. My experience on this tire is quite mediocre. You pay for what you get for. This is the type of tire you would put on a vehicle before you trade it in. Once these tires were on the worn indicators, I replaced the set with Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S with a 600 Treadwear rating. A night and day difference compared to the Dunlop.
This is my 3rd set of these tires. They ride great and for our high-speed highway driving, they have been great. We do an average of 110 miles a day. Also got us out a dump of snow a few years back. I like em. They work great for us.
