The Eagle F1 GS EMT (Extended Mobility Technology) is Goodyear’s Ultra High Performance Summer self-supporting run-flat tire developed for C5 Corvette coupes, convertibles and hardtops. Featuring Goodyear’s Extended Mobility Technology, these tires provide temporary mobility even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. The Eagle F1 GS EMT is designed to blend wet and dry traction with treadwear, however like all summer tires, it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Goodyear’s warranty states: “Ultra high-performance summer tires are not recommended for winter use, and tread or shoulder cracking on those tires resulting from winter use will not be covered under our warranty.”

The Eagle F1 GS EMT molds Goodyear’s AATRAX tread compound into a directional tread design. Large shoulder blocks, continuous center ribs and a multi-radius profile offer confident steering and uniform wear while dual race-bred Aquachannels help provide efficient water evacuation to promote wet traction.

The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon overlays and an angled ply casing to combine disturbance-free operation with high-speed durability. The tire’s reinforced sidewalls are capable of temporarily supporting the weight of the vehicle even after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure.

NOTE: Extended Mobility Technology tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.

  1. I’m replacing these tires with plenty of tread remaining because the noise level is absolutely unbearable!!! I’ve got a Borla Exhaust system and can’t hear it due to the tire roar (not quite that loud but close). Replacing them with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport a/s plus run flats. Reviews r mixed on the michelins but I hoping the noise level is a lot lower

  2. The Goodyear F1 G2 EMT’s are great in the dry, very responsive and stick like glue. They do wear quickly and are somewhat loud (noise) at highway speeds. This is my third set in two years. You must make sure the wheels are properly aligned, if not they will wear even faster. I am happy with the overall performance.

  3. These are the tires that came with my new C6 Z/51 Corvette. I was extremely disappointed with them – Very high level of road noise, rock hard ride and short tread life (bald after 17,000 miles). Replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP and all of the above issues went away.

  4. Starting at about 12000 miles and one year, these tires have considerably hardened and have become extremely noisy. With a slightly lowered ride height and stiffened suspension, these tires were able to pull between 0.95 and 0.99G in sustained cornering on a track in warmer conditions. Now, the tires are barely able to generate 0.85G in hot conditions before the front tires start sliding in a juddering understeer or the rear tires give way in a snap oversteer that is extremely hard to catch and recover. Trying to put down any significant power at corner exit is now impossible. They would make excellent drifting tires though. On the road driving is accompanied by spooky steering sensations as the cornering forces build. The steering gets very light as the tires load and unload over even small pavement irregularities. Braking is relatively unaffected in the dry, where it was never that good before and remains still not that good. In the wet, the spooky feelings are amplified. It feels like it will wash out going over paint stripes at normal speeds, and hydroplane resistance is way worse than the tread pattern would seem to indicate.Noise levels are so high it is almost impossible to talk normally and be heard at highway speeds on worn pavement. The only good thing is the wear. These look like they will last 30k miles despite some track time and fast canyon carving. The C7 will be a much improved Corvette if they do nothing else but use different tires. These are truly terrible.

  5. OEM on the car, but these tires a loud, slick and way overpriced. There are MUCH better choices out there. Goodyear really dropped the ball with these tires and are an embarrassment to Goodyears reputation.

  6. I am pretty happy with these Goodyears. For my “old guy” driving style, they hold the road nicely. I don’t slow for curves, and generally leave others behind on the freeway onramps. Have practically no wet road time with this car. The noise level is pretty bad on most pavement; it seems to be worse as the tires wear. I hope to get another 10000 miles out of them, which will be amazing for this car and tire. Price is kinda high, so plan to replace them with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus ZP at a lower price and better UTQG number: 500. Thanks Tire Rack for all the great info on tires!!
