AltiMAX RT43 (Road Touring) tires featuring T-speed ratings are General’s Standard Touring All-Season tire members of their AltiMAX family of flagship tires. Designed to deliver impressive consumer value through even treadwear and extended treadlife, the AltiMAX RT43 combines a quiet, comfortable ride with year-round, all-season traction, even in light snow.

AltiMAX RT43 tires feature a Twin Cushion Silica Tread Compound that places a high-density all-season top compound for year-round traction and long wear above a low-density foundation compound that absorbs road vibrations to promote a comfortable ride. The tread compound is molded into a symmetric tread design featuring a continuous center rib and independent tread blocks that use sound wave suppression technology to reduce road noise for a quiet ride. Circumferential grooves and General’s Anti-Slip Sipe Design Technology increases the number of biting edges to enhance traction on slippery roads.

The tire’s internal structure features a Low Surface Abrasion Technology construction that reduces tread distortion as the tire rolls, resulting in less surface abrasion to promote even treadwear and extend treadlife. Twin steel belts reinforced by one layer of spirally wrapped polyamide stabilize the tread area for good handling while a polyester cord body enhances ride quality.

  1. We bought these tires based on many reviews online. They seemed like a good cost to value and had a nice treadlife warranty. Our van had about 143,00 miles when we put the tires on and we were hoping it would be out last set before upgrading the van. Fast forward 1 year, these tires now have 22k miles on them and I’m already down to 5/32’s on the tread. With most places recommending a replacement at 4/32’s, I’ve basically completed used these tires at 1 year, 22,000 miles. I would absolutely not recommend these tires! I’ll report back once I see what they are willing to do on warranty.

  2. These are not bad tires at all but I seem to have gotten some bad ones. Had one separate on me, about 1000 miles ago (with 8500 miles on the tire) and now after receiving another I am getting ridiculously loud tire noise out of nowhere. I have an alignment done when needed and have the tire balanced before a major roadtrip (once every 2 months). I love the tires but they have been giving me a headache. Buy at own risk.

  3. I have had these tires on 1 auto and now just purchased for my wifes 2014 Pathfinder. My Daughter also has these tires on her van. Papa recommended them…lolI love these tires. By far the best I’ve ever had. They wear and wear and wear. I think I will probably get 80K or so on my Acura RDX.

  4. 245/55/18 on OEM rims on a CrewCab Colorado w/2.9L engine. location is Lafayette, Louisiana. I have just over 11k miles and look like they will last forever. Almost no signs of wear even though I have not rotated them. I purchased these solely on looks, which looks/fits excellent on my truck. but, I’m disappointed at the overall stiff ride of the tire. I think it’s because of the “semi” bead rim protector on the sidewall, something I have not seen on any of my many previous tires. setting them at 32.5lbs helps considerably with no loss of city mpgs. but I have to inflate them back up to 34.5lbs to maintained my standard highway mpgs, which makes for a bumpy ride. Wet traction is OK, I have to be cautious hitting puddles and wheel spin while taking off from a stop. I’ve had them balanced twice and still feel a slight vibration, so they are going in for a third time soon when I rotate them. The good is they handle great, quiet ride and are extremely aesthetically pleasing. But, because of the wet traction, I wouldn’t purchase these for my truck again. (please note tread wear and noise comfort should be a score of 8)

  5. This is the second set of these tires on my Dodge. The first set gave me over 70,000 miles of trouble free driving, I replaced 2 of them last fall just before winter. Living in Buffalo NY figured better safe than sorry and I just replaced the final two recently. These tires have exceeded all of my expectations, terrific overall tire, does everything I expect from them.
