The Cinturato P1 Runflat is Pirelli’s Grand Touring Summer run-flat tire developed for small coupes and sedans. Cinturato P1 Runflat tires feature Pirelli’s Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology that enhances safety and convenience by providing temporary extended mobility in the event a puncture allows complete loss of air pressure. Pirelli’s Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology allows tires to literally “run flat” for up to 50 miles at 50 mph (80 km at 80 km/h) unless otherwise specified by the vehicle manufacturer for Original Equipment tires. Pirelli’s warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the Cinturato P1 Runflat, like all summer tires, is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Cinturato P1 Runflat’s unique combination of qualities have been made possible by Pirelli’s Green Performance approach to developing products offering a synergy of driving pleasure, performance, safety and respect of the environment. The Pirelli Ecoimpact icons on the sidewalls of Cinturato P1 Runflat tires highlight their contribution to the environment with regards to energy efficiency, clean air, low noise and long wear.

The Cinturato P1 Runflat uses a low rolling resistance tread compound that features technologically advanced polymers to increase grip on wet and dry roads while it reduces vehicle fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design that promotes even wear, improves ride comfort and reduces noise levels. A robust outboard shoulder enhances lateral grip on dry roads while three circumferential channels flow water from between the tire’s contact patch and the road to enhance hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts to provide strength and durability on top of a polyester cord body. Pirelli’s extended mobility solution is made possible by their MIRS computer-controlled robotized manufacturing system, a production process that assures consistency in the application of the additional sidewall reinforcements that provide the self-supporting run-flat capability.

Cinturato P1 Runflat tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to detect and signal tire pressure changes.

Note: (Cinturato P1 Run Flat tires are designed and produced using eco-focused manufacturing methods, in addition to featuring low rolling resistance (LRR) compounds and constructions to enhance vehicle fuel economy. These tires are identified as such with Pirelli’s Ecoimpact designation on their Sizes and Specs pages.

  1. Put these tires on my BMW 328i 15 months ago and put 35,000 miles on them. My dealership just recommended I replace tires within 5000 miles, so I would be getting 40,000 miles total out of the set. Living in Arizona, the heat is rough on tires, I must say, for $100/per run on flats tires, it¿s not a bad deal at all! The noise level is getting louder at this point, but again, the tires are almost done. So no complaints. Looking for my next set of Perlis¿! GREAT TIRES FOR THE MONEY!

  2. I’ve taken some weight out of my car and I pretty much only drive it alone so my results might be skewed. I wanted a more slick tire then this for the summer butt as far as run flats go, I had Bridgestone turazas, P1s are much nicer in literally every single way. Compared to the last set these are like riding on a cloud, much less understeer if traffics pushing me to fast to slow down as much as I want. It’s hard to explain the area I live in but there’s a Hyundai n a Kia plant near but so everyone has a pile of crap and drives it like a Lamborghini, most cars on the road are dinged, dented, or flat out wrecked n still driving so it’s like a gauntlet to take out my nice tiny little hatchback among the garbage n all the hillbillies in theirs jacked up trucks. I know what I want to do, put giant tires on my car and intentionally ruin my own engine lol.

  3. I put the non-runflat P1 plus on my 2011 bmw 335d m sport about 17000 miles ago. my car has the staggered wheel/tire setup so rotating is not in the cards for me. despite this, these are fabulous tires! I use this car for a 120 mile daily commute, so while great, safe handling is a necessity – long treadwear is of most importance to me. my car is balanced and aligned to perfection – and they are surprisingly wearing like iron! they handle great, are super quiet even after 17000 miles. not sure about the runflats – but i’d recommend the P1 plus non-runflat all day long!
