The Grabber Arctic is General Tire’s Light Truck/SUV Studdable Winter / Snow tire developed for the drivers of pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles, and vans looking for traction on winter’s slushy, snow-covered and icy roads. Designed to offer traction in near- and below-freezing temperatures, Grabber Arctic winter tires are molded to accommodate optional metal studs.
Grabber Arctic tires feature a robust cut- and chip-resistant winter compound that maintains flexibility in freezing temperatures. This compound is molded into a broad, directional tread design featuring a central row of tread blocks flanked by independent intermediate blocks and squared-off shoulders. The intermediate and shoulder blocks feature angled interlocking light truck winter sipes to combine dry and wet performance with snow-biting surface edges. Diagonal and zigzag sipes work together to increase three-dimensional traction in deep snow. Alternating rows of optional metal studs can be inserted into the shoulder and intermediate tread blocks to increase traction on hard packed snow and icy roads.
The Grabber Arctic tire’s wide, flat footprint is supported by ultra-high-strength steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to deliver exceptional penetration resistance and even footprint pressure for excellent braking and confident stability under all approved load conditions. General Grabber Arctic tires meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Install Grabber Arctic tires in sets of four only.
Molded to accept optional 11mm (TSMI #12) silver-colored metallic winter studs.

Purchased these for my 2017 Colorado 4wd pickup, I live in Northern Ontario and winter came early this year,as of today we have 4.5 foot high snow banks on January 1 st 2018, I normally buy Continental for my vehicles but they weren’t available in this size and load rating,so I bought Conti’s budget brand , they have been excellent in the snow both deep and lightly covered pavement,I am some what disapointed with the ice traction but i can say our municipality has been terrible with the road clearing,I have noticed that even the wifes Mazda 6 with her brand new Continental Winter Contact SI’s are struggling in these conditions we are having right now,I am going to add some weight to the rear end to see if ice traction improves,I can say that I rairly use 4wd so maybe I am expecting to much from the non studded tire.
Although last Winter was not snowy,I couple of time we got 5″+ the tire performed like a champ,These tire’s have a higher aspect ratio than stock,70 vs 65’s Add’s a couple inches ground clearance.Very happy these tires
Love these tires. Work excellent on snowy conditions
We have 4 cars and or light trucks in the house. We all spend a lot of time on the road in everything from Ice storms, deep snow, whiteouts and 100 degree summer heat. ALL the vehicles in this house run these year round.Winter time I and she run studded, we have driven in some real nasty stuff and always got home to northern vt and a vertical 900 foot driveway. Yes there is road noise,I am working a project in back woods Georgia with red clay that gets wet and greasy. Not been stuck and have watched locals end up needing a dozer to pull them to safety.
All 4 are studded. So I expect dry cornering to be compromised. All studded tires are loud ! However if you need max performance at a reasonable price this is a great buy. If you have to travel in the worst conditions like I do these are great tire .
We actually bought 2 sets of these tires, one for our son’s 2017 Jeep Wrangler and one for my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. We have not used the 07 in the snow enough yet to write a review but we have used the Wrangler enough to say that these tires are excellent for the price. The Wrangler is unlike the Grand Cherokee in that the Wrangler has a part time 4×4 system so it cannot be driven in 4×4 all the time as the Grand is. Therefore, much of the time the vehicle is in 2 wheel drive but you still hit icy and snowy patches. And with this the traction has been great. We do have both sets studded since we have a combination of steep hills and frequent icing conditions. s
This tire is a bargain! I elected to go with a narrower than stock size (75 series vs 70) for winter. These tires are quiet and they don’t squirm. Dry traction isn’t excellent but I bought them for winter and in winter conditions they do very well. For the money I would definitely purchase these again.
