The Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 (Generation 2) is Goodyear’s Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for use as Original Equipment (O.E.) on Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 coupes and convertibles, as well as Ford Shelby GT500 Mustangs optioned with Ford’s SVT Performance Package. The Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 is designed to be street-refined and track-capable by combining an aggressive appearance with awe-inspiring performance. However, like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, these tires are not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
Goodyear’s warranty states: “Ultra high-performance summer tires are not recommended for winter use, and tread or shoulder cracking on those tires resulting from winter use will not be covered under our warranty.”
The Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 features a race-inspired tread compound molded into a unique asymmetric and directional tread design that rewards the driver with a blend of dry road traction (from massive outboard shoulder tread blocks) combined with wet road confidence (provided by Eagle F1 GS-D3 inspired sweeping Aquachannel grooves on the inboard side).
The tire’s structure includes twin, high-tensile steel belts reinforced with spirally wound nylon that distribute the vehicle’s load across the tire’s footprint to provide high-speed durability and uniform ride qualities. Internal construction enhances steering precision and high-speed stability. Exterior sidewall rim flange protectors help guard wheels from curb damage.
Since Shelby GT500 Mustangs optioned with Ford’s SVT Performance Package applications feature staggered tire/wheel size fitments, they will require position-specific (RF, RR, LF and LR) tires.

Great sticky tire for summer traction but when it is below 10C or wet they are very slippery. They wear out too fast. They are really more ideal for track application.
my 2014 gt500 has a great time with these tires!all the people leaving the bad reviews dont use these tires on the track so they have no clue what these tires were meant for.on dry roads you will break traction, but on the drag strip once you get heat them they stick better than some Nittos ive used in the past id compare these tires to MT/Hoosier DRs in terms of stickyness.so if youre NOT racing then these tires are not for you – but if you do, then you want maximum grip when the tires have heat in them.
These tires are junk! Do a google search under this tire with gt500 and you’ll see how much Shelby owners hate these tires. They are plain dangerous below 50 degrees. They are nicknamed the hockey puck tires.
This is a good inexpensive option in this segment but you need to realize that if you’re not on a track you will need to work a little to get some heat in them before they grip well. They need a few hard breaking sessions before grip starts. I rarely drive my car in the winter and would recommend getting more appropriate all weather tires for colder temps as they can be dangerous in cold and it’s probably not good for the tire either. Good on track but after 7-8 laps can get a little greasy.
With this tire if the roads are dry and the temperature is 80° or more they are OK. If the temperature gets below 60° you might as well put on your daughters Barbie jeep tires. They are absolutely horrible!
I don’t understand why the reviews for these tires are not so good… I’ve never had a set of tires that handle/grip as well as these. I imagine the car’s suspension is also to thank, but the tires grip like glue. I have the 1le package, and I will NEVER buy another brand, as long as I own this vehicle.
This tire is just horrible. Goodyear can make all the claims they want, but do not buy this tire! Poor traction, poor cornering……honestly I would consider these tires down right dangerous! I’ve lost control multiple times during spirited driving because the tires don’t hold. You can’t trust them. Even straight line running, when you’re on it and shift hard they will break loose like you hit a patch of ice. I can’t believe Shelby even considered these tires. Maybe if you’re in some desert on a 100+ degree day they might work, but not for anything else. If you do 2-3 hard burnouts you can make them get a little sticky, but there goes your tire life…..just to get them working like a Michelin does all the time.
