The Scorpion Winter Run Flat radial is Pirelli’s Performance Winter / Snow run-flat tire developed for the drivers of today’s powerful luxury crossover and sport utility vehicles. Scorpion Winter Run Flat tires feature Pirelli’s Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology that enhances safety and convenience by providing temporary extended mobility in the event a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Pirelli’s Self-Supporting Run Flat Technology allows a tire to literally “run flat” for up to 50 miles at 50 mph (80 km at 80 km/h) unless otherwise specified by the vehicle manufacturer for Original Equipment tires. Pirelli’s Ecoimpact icons branded on the sidewalls highlight the tire’s contribution to the environment with regards to energy efficiency, clean air and low noise. Designed to deliver low temperature wintertime driving performance, Scorpion Winter Run Flat tires combine predictable handling on dry and wet roads with traction in snow and on ice.

Featuring a tread rubber compound that introduces a new polymer blend and a higher content of silica components, the Scorpion Winter Run Flat enhances grip and handling in typical winter driving conditions. The tread compound is molded into a directional design that features a rounder tread profile, modular center block geometry and stable shoulders to enhance dry road handling. Circumferential grooves help maintain good traction on wet and slush-covered roads while snow boosters ridges molded in the bottom of the grooves and multi-directional sipes help bite into snow and ice.

Note: Scorpion Winter tires in sizes up to and including 255 Section Widths feature a 3-rib tread design, while tires in sizes of 265 and wider Section Widths feature a 5-rib tread design.

Scorpion Winter Run Flat Performance Winter / Snow radials meet the industry’s severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Install Scorpion Winter Run Flat tires in sets of four only.

Vehicles should always be equipped with equivalent tires at all wheel positions. These winter / snow tires, due to their exceptional snow and ice traction provided by their unique tread compounds, must be used in sets of four to help ensure proper vehicle control.

Though they cannot be labeled as run-flat tires, tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls offer run-flat-like characteristics by delivering limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Because MOExtended or MOE tires do not have the same speed and distance endurance of conventional run-flat tires, they should not be substituted in any situation where a conventional run-flat tire is required. To confirm what your vehicle needs, check our Original Equipment tire listing for your year, make and model or see your vehicle owner’s manual.

  1. Ordered a set of Rial X10s and Pirelli Sottozeros for our random wintery weather. Finally got to test them out coming home on xmas evening. We had snow then ice and live in a hilly part of town. They performed as expected. Love the look of the wheels and the tires are a little wider then the all seasons and perhaps a little quieter. So far, very pleased. TireRack made it all very easy to order and have installed.

  2. Live in Upstate NY with lots of winter snow and Ice. This tire performs exceptionally well. On dry roads it is the most quite snow tire I have ever purchased. In fact it handles so well, and is so quite, there was no rush to put my Bridgestone run flats on this spring. Handles great in deep snow, rain and ice!! Best snow I’ve owned. Can’t comment on treadwear yet as I’ve only put on a few thousand miles this winter.
