The Ventus V4 ES (H105) is Hankook’s Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sports coupes and performance sedans. The Ventus V4 ES is designed to combine cutting-edge appearance with predictable handling, traction and control on dry and wet roads, as well as in occasional light snow.

The Ventus V4 ES molds an ultra high performance all-season tread compound into a directional design featuring a continuous center rib flanked by stable independent intermediate and shoulder tread blocks to enhance dry traction. Wide circumferential main grooves and multiple lateral side slots create waterways that aid water drainage to minimize hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Sipes in each tread block increase the number of biting edges to reinforce winter traction without abandoning wet and dry handling.

Hankook’s Controlled Footprint Shape profile uses the tire’s internal structure of twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to promote predictable handling and uniform wear.

  1. A well priced performance tire that becomes very noisy after only 25% wear. It is slow to respond to steering input and doesn’t have much of a ride. I found it handles quite well in aggressive situations, wears very well but I prefer a softer, quieter much more responsive tire.

  2. My tires on on a Smart Barbus the fronts are 175/55/15 77t and the rear tires are 215/35/R17 79H These tires never made me feel unconfortable in any conditions. The ride is very good and not harsh in any conditions or bumpy roads

  3. Dont ever buy these tires. Had a ply separation on two of the tires with only 30000 on them and they are only summer tires too. Road noise began after about 10000 miles and has be a nightmare ever sense. Never again Hankook

  4. I purchased these tires for my 06 impreza 2.5i and have had them on for 10k miles now and I couldnt be happier with them. They are a comfy ride and traction is pretty good in all conditions. I rotate my tires properly every 4-5k miles and I check the tread every so often and they seem to be wearing at a normal rate. No issues at all. Its a solid tire all around folks. If your looking for a super grippy, stiff tire for street racing and auto x then keep looking. This tire is perfect for all-weather driving as well as some aggressive driving:) Dont listen to all the negative reviews. If you rotate your tires and keep them inflated properly then you will have no issues with these kooks!

  5. I drive pretty aggressively. These tires seemed great when I first bought them, but after 6000 miles I had them rotated, and the quality downgraded unbelievably. When accelerating, my tires spin very easily, and if the street is wet it’s virtually impossible to move from a stop without spinning the tires. On highway or freeway curves, these tires prove to be exception in traction. I’ve been able to take banked curves at 50+. However, when taking corners, specifically on wet streets, the understeer of the front wheel drive gets really exaggerated, and I start to slide. On the freeway when it is raining, I can feel my rear tires lose traction when I hit standing water. Traction returns immediately when I exit the puddle, but it feels really dangerous, and probably wouldn’t work that way without the Automatic Traction Control. These tires do not do well at all in wet streets.I noticed a significant decrease in steering response in these tires compared to the run-flats that came with the car. The MINI is known for its go-kart style handling, but these tires don’t give me that. This is probably due to a soft sidewall. I have about 28000 miles on these tires, and they are basically completely bald in the rear from aggressive cornering. I’ve had them since August of 2013, and I’m writing this review January 2015. I would not recommend these tires for “spirited” driving.

  6. This tire was on the car when I bought it. I normally prefer dedicated summer/winter tires but I wasn’t about to get rid of them just for that sake (especially since they’re new). In short, they’re passable for dry/wet conditions but just awful in snow. If you had to, you could probably make do in winter (those cold dry days). Tread wear is good, sidewall is soft, can be noisy but it wouldn’t be my choice for an all-season.
