The Scorpion Verde is Pirelli’s Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed for the drivers of crossover and sport utility vehicles looking to reduce their vehicle’s impact on the environment, without forsaking its performance. Scorpion Verde tires are used for Original Equipment (O.E.) fitments, beginning with the Porsche Macan in America. Scorpion Verde tires, like all summer tires, are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Therefore Pirelli’s warranty does not cover summer tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius).

The Scorpion Verde’s unique combination of qualities have been made possible by Pirelli’s Green Performance approach to developing tires offering a synergy of driving pleasure, performance, safety and respect of the environment. The Pirelli Ecoimpact icons on the sidewalls of Scorpion Verde tires highlight their contribution to the environment with regards to energy efficiency, clean air, low noise and long wear.

Scorpion Verde tires use a balanced silica ratio low rolling resistance tread compound that features technologically advanced polymers to increase grip on wet and dry roads while it reduces vehicle fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design that promotes even wear, improves ride comfort and reduces noise levels. A robust shoulder and continuous ribs on the outboard portion of the tire enhance lateral grip on dry roads while four circumferential channels promote efficient expulsion of water from the contact patch to promote hydroplaning resistance and wet traction.

The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by nylon cap plies to provide high speed-durability.

Note: Scorpion Verde tires are designed and produced using eco-focused manufacturing methods and feature low rolling resistance (LRR) compounds and constructions to enhance the vehicle fuel economy of their Original Equipment applications. These tires are identified as such with Pirelli’s Ecoimpact designation on their Sizes and Specs pages.

  1. These replaced the OEM all-season Michelins on my Macan and are a much better tire. Excellent wet traction and grip – works amazing with all-wheel drive. These tires never let go on my in a full season of driving with my Porsche. Dry traction is outstanding as well. Very comfortable, which is likely due to the high profile 60/55 wheels that I have. However, at these aspect ratios the tire is a little wiggly and can be slightly unstable in the corner. Has lots of cornering grip but doesn’t feel totally planted. I think these are great tires but would try a firmer tire next time.

  2. 24,000 miles on these oem tires and the wires are showing on two of them. The other two are bald. The tires were rotated at every oil change (7500 miles) and have been the worst tires I have ever had on a vehicle. They were loud and harsh from the beginning. I was told by my Volvo dealership that Pirelli wont honor the mileage warranty b/c they were not purchased and installed by me. Never again will I buy a car with Pirellis on it and I will never purchase Pirelli tires.

  3. Was offered 2 choices; Michelin or Pirelli. Choosen Pirelli for my 225HP SUV. Earlier was near silence and now at 16000 miles, its a little loud especially when inflated to 270 kpa all round and in plus 30 degC tropical environment. Not much different in wet and dry performance. With traction of AA, its proven excellent. Light offroading is acceptable but not for extreme muddy or loose sand. Generally for my own application, its just fine. Would like to replace with the same or similar AA traction. Love it!

  4. Grip on dry surface is good – much better than OEM NEXEN’s.On the wet it could be better. Now that the tyre is 30 to 40% worn, the grip in the wet (especially) is not as predictable as it use to be even at slow to medium speeds.Recently I had a nasty fright going through a 40 deg corner in heavy rain doing 40 to 50 mph (at best) where I momentary lost control of the car; only to regain control by lifting off the throttle and split-second opposite lock application to the steering wheel. Probably I hit a small puddle of water but that made me wary of the tyre hydroplanning capability in the rain when it is partly worn. For future tyre replacements, I endeavour to sought tyres with better wet traction and hydroplanning characteristics to fill that small gap/window of unpredictability. Eyeing on Michelin Latitude Sport or equivalent – I could be wrong!

  5. We have 27500 miles on these tires, mostly highway. They are now unusable due to cupping, rough ride, noise, and poor performance-all four, not just one or two. They are useless and dangerous in any winter conditions; so travel in the Northwest is limited to summer only. The dealer acknowledged the wear defects but offered only to sell us new tires. We had these tires dismounted and bought a set of Michelins at another dealer.

  6. These are 70,000 mile tires. we only got 30,000 miles out of them with rotating. I will never buy a Pirelli again. Very disappointing.

  7. Excellent purchase. Replaced Michelin tires ,and what an upgrade ! I love these tires, very quiet and comfortable ride , good handling. Strongly suggesting.

  8. My wife’s 2017 Volvo XC90 T6 AWD R-Design had 275/35R22 Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires installed at the factory. I give these tires high ratings in all areas except for tread wear. The amount of miles before replacement on these tires will be between 30k and 35k, which is pretty standard for OEM tires in my experience. The tires handle really well, ride quietly, and have a ton of grip. They provide a comfortable ride and perform well in both wet and dry conditions. We live in NC, so we have not had the opportunity to test the tires in inclement weather because there is rarely ever any snow on the ground. We have been happy enough with the tires that I am planning to replace the current Pirelli Scorpion Verde’s with another set of the exact same thing. The tires are a bit costly, but when you’re buying 275/35R22’s you know that a quality tire will be fairly pricey. All in all I would give these tires an 8 on a scale of 10.

  9. Purchased the tire as a high quality replacement for the OEM. Was very disappointed with the road noise – (far worse than winter tires and original equipment). After 12,000 mi the tires are effectively warn out and I am a very reserved driver.

  10. This tire was provided as original equipment on my Grand Cherokee. They are horrible on snow. Yet provided on a Jeep. Go figure!!!!!

  11. The tires performed flawlessly when new. As they started to wear I noticed a propensity to hydroplane. I only got 36,000-37,000 miles and the tires were worn to the wear bars. Good while they lasted BUT I will go with something different this time around.
