The Latitude Sport 3 (third-generation Latitude on-road SUV tire) is Michelin’s Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed as Original Equipment for high performance SUVs and crossovers such as the Porsche Macan S and Macan Turbo. In addition to utilizing eco-focused manufacturing methods and enhancing vehicle fuel economy through low rolling resistance, as designated by Michelin’s Green X* branding, Latitude Sport 3 tires are designed to deliver world-class dry and wet road traction, handling and cornering. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Latitude Sport 3 tires feature a new tread compound molded into an asymmetric design that offers an increased void ratio to improve wet grip compared to its predecessor. Variable thickness sipes reduce tread block deformation, which improves rolling resistance to enhance vehicle fuel economy.

The tire’s internal structure includes two high-tensile, steel cord belts that are further reinforced by size-optimized, precisely placed individual aramid/nylon hybrid filaments that resist tire distortion to provide high-speed durability and enhanced ride quality.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

*Specific sizes featuring Green X technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire’s Specs tab.

  1. Original equipment on my Macan Turbo. It’s more performance tire than I require as I have not pushed it nearly as hard as my Cayman S or KTM SuperDuke 1290. That said, even given my average driving of this vehicle, I remain quite impressed by the 30 – 35000 miles I expect to accumulate before replacing (my expectation given the weight of the vehicle was 20 – 25000 miles, so very pleased here!) Another pleasant surprise is that I have only needed to top the tire pressures annually (during post-winter changing) and that was about 5 psi. During 8 warm months I run these tires, I have never seen any psi drop!! Here is my conjecture on why other drivers are getting less mileage – the first 2 are obvious. Are they monitoring their pressures? Are they driving aggressively? Now the one people don’t think about – are they driving when temps are consistently under 45F? My experience from previous performance tires on cold dry pavement is that there is tire slippage which can cause more tread wear than warm pavement. Unless you are well south of the Mason Dixon line, you over November to April you really should swap seasonally to winter tires or run all-season tires.

  2. No more Michelins on the Turbo S! These tires were difficult to balance and they were simply not round. They are noisy and they only last about 14,000 miles! We just hit 30,000 miles and this was the third replacement of the factory spec Michelin tires. Never again!I just drove a friends Turbo S with Pirelli P Zero’s and that is the way to go!

  3. Bought these tires after trying the comparable Dunlop and Yokohama tires. For the same price range these tires blew the doors off the competition. Awesome cornering and traction in dry conditions. Confident driving in wet conditions and the road noise was better than the others. Just like all the other summer performance tires, once it gets cold they lose all their traction and cornering. Understand these are not an all season tire from the start. You will have to put on alternate tires for the winter. If I had to be a tire in the afterlife, I can only hope that I am lucky enough to come back as this tire!

  4. Less than 10,000 miles and they need to be replaced. Writing this only to say I would never buy these again.

  5. Excellent tires after 3000 miles, highly recommend them. I was looking for tires and made my decision based on recommendation of other drivers, but Tire Rack had not tested this tire and I was hesitant a bit because of that, but after having them on my SUV for a while, I will attest they are very good tires.

  6. Great Tire for traction and comfort. Much better than the OEM Pirelli All-Season tires. Just know that, the tire does not last long, mine only had 10,000 miles and all 4 tires need to be changed.

  7. I purchased four of these in July 2017. In October, a small rock in the road punctured the sidewall of both right tires. Covered by insurance so I got two new replacements within a couple of weeks. Over the weekend, yet another sidewall puncture on the right front from a small stone in the road (1.5″ diameter rock that wasn’t sharp). The puncture is just beyond where the tread stops. The sidewall appears to be near paper thin and just will not hold up to even light abuse that anyone might normally encounter. As soon as I wear these down, I will not be buying another set. They are not inexpensive tires and just don’t hold up as expected for the price paid. Three sidewall punctures in 3 months!!!
