The Ventus AS (RH07) is Hankook’s Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of crossovers, sport utility vehicles and prestigious pickups looking for year-round, on-road capabilities. The Ventus AS is designed as a suitable O.E. replacement or Plus Size application that combines a smooth ride and low noise levels with year-round handling and all-season traction, even in light snow.

The Ventus AS molds an all-season compound into a symmetric tread design featuring large shoulder blocks and a continuous center rib to promote driving feel and stability. Six main circumferential grooves (a first for Korean tires) help cool the tire and allow water to escape through the footprint to resist hydroplaning and increase wet traction. An open shoulder design and stepped shoulder groove walls help evacuate water and slush to enhance foul weather traction and steering response. Siping in every tread block provides hundreds of biting edges to generate snow traction.

The tire’s internal structure is based on a computer designed tire profile that provides the benefits of “slightly round” footprint shapes over a wide range of loads and inflation pressures.

  1. Bought these for both a 2006 Saturn Vue and a 1995 Silverado (lowered) mostly because they came in the sizes needed and were not directional. Price was ok, but the performance and durability are very lacking. Snow/ice traction is very bad, wife had to turn around because she couldn’t make it up a slight incline in the ice/snow, other cars going around etc. Vehicles are garage kept but tires still seemed to be dry rotting after 10k miles. Fronts on the truck actually had tread pieces “chunking” off. Worst of all after about 2k miles these tire are noisy. Tires still had decent tread left but the noise was unbearable. Added fender well sound deadening but it didn’t help much. Got rid of these for some General Altimax RT43’s and interior sound decreased by 15db. I would not recommend these tires at all. There are way better out there for the same price.

  2. I bought these already installed on the used Cx-7 with unknown miles on them(15-25k estimated). We have put well over 30k on them (daily commuter as well as several 1200+ mile highway trips) and the treadwear is outstanding, however…the noise is unbearable! There is still another 2 seasons worth of tread on the tires and I am pulling these off. It is difficult to carry a conversation in the car with these tires. I will not purchase these again.

  3. I purchased this tire about five years ago and have drive close to 50,000 miles on them. At first they were not too bad but the more I drive on them the choppier and louder they get. It’s to the point now that when I’m on the highway I can’t even listen to the radio because I have to crank it up so loud just to hear it. I would not recommend these tires due to the choppy ride and extremely loud road noise. There are much better choices out there for the money.

  4. THIS TIRE WAS GREAT FOR THE FIRST 10K MILES. SNOW AND WET TRACTION WAS AVERAGE. AROUND 20K MILES THE TIRES BECAME CHOPPED AND STARTED TO DEVELOP A LOT OF ROAD NOISE. MY TIRES WERE BALANCED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ALIGNED TO FACTORY SPECS. I NOW HAVE 35K ON THE TIRES AND THE TREAD DEPTH IS STILL AT >50% BUT THE TIRES ARE INCREDIBLY NOISY. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR HANKOOK TIRE. THERE ARE MUCH BETTER OPTIONS FOR THE PRICE.

  5. I’ve had these tires for over 5 years and the tread won’t die. So much left compared to the factory ones I change twice since new getting half the mileage and these tires are even close to being worn. I might just replace them because 5 years is getting old buy these still just keep going. Amazing quality in longevity. Put these on a great vehicle and they will be great in return. Out these on a subpar vehicle and you will blame the tires. They handle amazing for the shear size and weight of my Merc. Can’t say enough good things about Hankook tires.Have a set on my wall just waiting to be put on to replace my $550 per tire Michelins for my 911.

  6. The noise started at 10,000 miles and has progressively gotten worse. You cannot talk or listen the radio while driving in the car. There are only 20,000 miles on the tires and they have to be replaced. DO NOT buy these tires.

  7. I had these tires on an Avis rental, a Ford Edge. It was snowing out, a couple of inches and at times, the highway was iced over. The tires were awful in the snow and ice – and this is with a vehicle that all wheel drive. Don’t buy them if you live near snow.
