The Eagle F1 Asymmetric is Goodyear’s Max Performance Summer tire developed for modern high performance vehicles that are more advanced, intelligent and luxurious than ever before. However since these vehicles are also more powerful, faster and heavier, they require tires that can provide control without conceding comfort. The asymmetric in the Eagle F1 Asymmetric name describes both the tire’s tread design and internal structure, both of which are designed to enhance performance in dry and wet conditions. Like all summer tires, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
Goodyear’s warranty states: “Ultra high-performance summer tires are not recommended for winter use, and tread or shoulder cracking on those tires resulting from winter use will not be covered under our warranty.”
The tread uses Goodyear’s Racing Compound Technology to combine carbon black for dry traction, silica for wet traction and a new generation of polymers to optimize tread stiffness. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design with wide, solid outboard shoulder blocks to increase cornering traction while a continuous center rib improves high speed stability and an open inboard tread pattern disperses water. Wide circumferential grooves also allow water to flow from between the tire footprint and road.
The internal structure of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric includes twin steel belts reinforced with three layers of spirally wrapped polyamide cord to enhance tread stability and high-speed capability. Goodyear Active Cornergrip Technology includes the addition of aramid reinforcement in the inboard sidewalls to provide a more even contact with the road for more even distribution of pressure across the whole contact patch when cornering.

I haven’t driven enough miles on these tires to be able to comment on things like tread wear, long term durability, etc. All I can say is that in the short time I’ve had them, they’ve been great. A big improvement over the tires that came with my Mustang GT. I can go around sharp turns at fairly high speeds without the slightest slipping or scrubbing of the tires. I can accelerate hard with no tire slip, no feeling like the back end is going to let loose, etc. These tires just stick to the road. They are also smooth riding, quiet and comfortable. I saw some other reviews where people complained about noise, rough ride, etc., but I have not noticed any such problems.
When new, I loved these tires. After about 20,000 miles, the noise they generated, especially on the highway, was beginning to be very noticeable. Now, at 30,000 miles, it sounds like I’m driving a Jeep. There’s plenty of treadwear left on these tires, and the handling and ride comfort are still ok, but I almost hate driving the car because of the noise. I’d trade them in on a new set of other tires, but there’s no pro-rated warranty at this point. Now I either throw out a set of tires with half their life remaining, or put up with the noise. I would never buy these tires again or recommend them to anyone else.
Purchased these Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season tires based on reviews but was disappointed by the numb steering response and unstable cornering. I returned them under the 30 day test drive Goodyear offers and will be purchasing the All Season Michelin Pilot Sports.
These have got to be pretty close to some of the worst tires on the market. Barely have 6000 miles on them and they need replacing. That bad, and they’re $500 a tire? Absolutely brutal. Definitely will not be getting these tires again, and will make sure to tell as many people as possible about how bad they are, so that they do not get —-ered in and lose all their money.
13k miles and I need new tires. Driven fast and hard cornering often, but never spun/burned out tires. 13k is rediculous to get out of these.
Best tires I have ever owned !
If temperature is below 60°F, back end is skittish when turning quickly or when passing even after 10-15 of driving. For this reason I will not purchase when I need replacements . Asked dealership if I could swoop tires for Michelin Pilot Sport4S or Michelin Super Sport. Unfortunately, I was not able too. Asked why Porsche chose Goodyear over Michigan . I was told corporate decision. Dealership stated they would forward my suggestion and concern.
