The Assurance WeatherReady is Goodyear’s Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of family sedans, coupes, crossovers, SUVs and minivans who want the smooth and quiet ride of a premium touring tire combined with the all-season confidence that comes from driving a vehicle equipped with tires bearing the Severe Snow Service certification symbol.
The special soy-based rubber tread compound of the Assurance WeatherReady is molded into an asymmetric tread design focused on providing the traction needed for any weather condition. Goodyear’s Weather Reactive Technology delivers control in inclement weather with 3D TredLock Technology Blades in the center and outboard tread ribs to provide stable cornering in slippery conditions. Evolving Traction Grooves help retain high levels of grip as the tire wears. Added silica in the tread compound aids traction on wet roads, while the Sweeping Tread Grooves move water away from the footprint to the four deep, circumferential channels to resist hydroplaning. The intermediate ribs of the Assurance WeatherReady feature Zigzag Biting Edges to provide the traction needed for confidence in slippery conditions, including on ice and in snow. All Assurance WeatherReady tires meet industry Severe Snow Service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Internal construction of the Assurance WeatherReady utilizes a single-ply polyester casing. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area, and a polyamide reinforcement aids handling response and high-speed capability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Founder at Tiresout. Used to be working as an engineer at Bridgestone Tires Akron Technical Center. The responsibilities included but were not limited to technical computing, indoor & outdoor testing of new tires.
Excellent tire all around, great in rain, snow and hold on the road with good grip and securityExcellent tire wear. A little bit noicer than other brands that wear sooner. I don’t mind the noice but to have a great tire all the way around. I will strongly recomended.
So far I’m pleased with the look and performance of the tires.
I selected the WeatherReady looking for a 4 season tire for my 2016 Forester, replacing Bridgestone Drive Guards that wore out in about 15,000 miles. For severe winter driving needs I use my 15 Outback with dedicated snow tires. The Goodyear’s provide a firm ride but not harsh like the run flats. Compared to the run flats the noise and mpg were about the same. Not much rain in Utah so can’t comment on hydroplaning. I immediately notice better handling and steering response. Where these tires really surprised me was in February. We were caught in a whiteout going over a mountain pass and traffic was stopped. We sat there for about an hour when a plow cleared a path during the whiteout. We took a chance and followed the plow with slushy snow, ice and poor visibility. These tires never let us down, having to pass some SUV’s that lost traction. During the rest of the trip sometimes on snow packed roads the tires continued to inspire confidence. With 14,000 miles tread at 9/32.I tried these on my 15 Outback with aftermarket springs, struts and sway bar. The ride was harsh, felt like tires had 50lbs of air, using 30 day trial I went to the Goodyear Eagle Sport All Season. The one thing that surprised me about the WeatherReady was the increased rolling resistance on my car compared to prior tires. There is a long hill on I80 from Park City to Salt Lake City. With all other tires speed continues to climb and have to use brakes. During brief trial with WeatherReady I actually had to apply gas to keep up with speed limit and air pressure at factory specs.
Purchased these tires to replace worn out BFGoodrich g-Force tires. I immediately noticed a difference in ride quality and reduced road noise! The wet traction and light snow and ice traction are superior as well. I have not experienced deep snow use…yet. Being in northern Illinois, the roads are not always the best and this handles minor potholes and bumps in the road with ease. I have since purchased a set for my son’s car. Will return to update when I experience deep snow and bad winter weather.
No apparent wear at 10,000 miles. Quiet and good ride quality. No traction issues last winter. Pleasantly surprised with these as a replacment for the Michelins.
Two winters in Upstate NY. Last year was not only deep snow but also freezing rain. These tires have done well with it all. In the past we ran Goodyear Assurance TripleTread on all ours cars for which they were available: I think TripleTread is a great tire. The WeatherReadys do just as well with better dry handling and less tire noise. Will buy these again if they ever wear down (Still have 10/32 after 18Kmiles)
I spent months looking at new tires for my Volvo XC60.I read all the reviews and finally settled on the WeatherReady because I wanted outstanding performance in the rain, snow and ice. So far, the tires performed extremely well in washout rain storms. I have yet to see how they perform in the snow, but I’m sure that’s coming. The major issue is the extremely loud road noise these tires produce. It’s like a high pitched whirling once you hit about 40 mph. It’s so bad, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to keep them.So unfortunate, because they really grip well. They are just so darn loud!!!
