  1. I am on my second set of on my 2012 Cruze LTZ (114,900 miles). This is the OEM factory tire. I have done mostly highway driving. Tread wear has been great, good wet traction, and great dry traction. Not too much noise. I have never had any issues with these tires. They are expensive, however, you won’t regret their great performance.

  2. I have had experience with the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tire on two vehicles¿an ’02 Acura TL Types-S and a ’12 Acura TSX Sport Wagon. My experience with the tire has been the same with both vehicles. In short, I would give the tire high ratings for both comfort, noise and dry handling, actually, it does very well in dry conditions. Treadwear is unremarkable but reasonable and consistent with a tire having a UTQG rating of 300. I would also give it high ratings in hydroplaning resistance given its wide circumferential grooves which are the tires most prominent anatomical feature. Now for the not so good. First, recognize that all tires are a compromise, and this all season is no exception. It is best to view all season tires as exhibiting characteristics within a spectrum that ranges from characteristics approximating a dedicated summer tire at the one end, and a dedicated winter tire at the other. Although all season, I found this tire to have a heavy bias towards summer tire performance. Although it has moderate tread block siping, it is horrible (read treacherous) in the snow. Again, I think this has more to do with a summer tire-like tread compound than solely tread design. Surprisingly, I found it to have horrible grip after approximately 20k miles of treadwear when the roads are damp or wet (not standing water). While this is worse in low temperatures (no surprise¿think summer tire bias), I currently have wheel spin when gently accelerating from a stop on wet pavement in low 70 deg weather (HX MXM4 tires with 22k miles). I do use dedicated winter tires, but will look to replace, not due to treadwear, but concerns over the poor damp/wet pavement performance at all season temperatures.

  3. I’ve had these tires for as long as I’ve had this car. I have a 103,000 miles on these tires and yes I’m overdue for new tires but they have performed pretty well in dry and wet conditions. Noise is minimal and ride is good. Snow performance (before the tread was worn) was avg at best. I would not buy again because they just don’t handle the snow well enough for me to buy them again.

  4. Don’t like these tires at all…. horrible in the snow, rain and even worse on ice. When hitting puddles of water the vehicle will hydroplane and completely loss control of the road. In the dry they don’t hook up and have excessive wheel spin, Will be going back to Pirelli’s for sure. I loved Michelin’s because I had them on my Suzuki GSXR 1000 race bike but on my 13 Dodge Charger Hemi they are not worth putting my family’s life at risk.

  5. These are the OEM tires which came with the car. My overall experience has been very good. I live in Chicago suburbs and managed pretty well with these tires in light and heavy snow. Now after riding 87K on them i am ready to replace them and could go with them happily.

  6. A very good tire that does what it was designed to do Plain and simple It’s not a snow tire or ice tire That is what they make snow tires forThe best all season tire in the world cannot hold up in snow like snow tire so all the stupid people on here condemming the tire for snow ?And why does Tire Rack offer tires that are below the speed rating set by manufacter ?? I have been driving a lot of different cars almost 40 years mostly rear wheel drive And most of these tires do what they are designed to do period

  7. I have used these tires on a 2011 Scion tC and a 2011 Rav4 and must say definitely a very good tire long lasting for a lower profile tire and I do drive somewhat aggressive but also mature Have been on back dirt roads even and they do quite well I do put snow/winter tires on vehicles so no reason to drive in deep snow which no all season is meant to do I did have the opportunity to drive in a bit of ice storm and they handled surprisingly well with the Rav I would say negative reviews are people who really do not have much driving skills ? They are great tires for what they are meant to be driven

  8. These are the OEM tires that came with the car. The tires have generally been pretty amazing, so I was really surprised to see it ranked so low among grand touring tires. They are extremely comfortable and quiet, but maybe not as quiet as you would expect. Wet traction is acceptable, but if you are on a slight incline, wheel spin is likely unless you take it easy. Snow traction is not that great, but it’s not a huge deal considering here in Ohio there’s only a few day per year where the roads are actually covered. The best part of these tires is definitely the handling. They make our full-size Taurus feel like a sports car (relatively, of course). We would very likely purchase these again, but they are on the expensive side. The plan is to purchase Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Touring tires as they are about $40 cheaper per tire.

  9. PA roads are awful and these tires held up well enough. I’ve managed to rotate and maintain pressure regularly. I have a steep driveway and they’ve always gotten me up and out whenever I don’t shovel (1-2 in of snow generally.) They did well for me, but at 52,500 I just found the first belt poke through which is why I’m here today.

  10. The worst tire I have been experienced. Near useless once it starts snowing. If it sits for too long it causes vibration in the car. Should not be considered an “all season” tire. That is used too loosely. Dry weather it was decent. I got stuck in an inch of snow. Michelin should take this off the market and definitely not come stock with an Acura.

  11. These tires came as original equipment on my 2011 Buick Regal. Seven years later they still have plenty of tread life left – as checked during this month’s annual inspection. I live in Syracuse NY so I’ve driven in plenty of snow and ice. While these are not snow tires, they have done very well for the past seven winters. If they weren’t so expensive, I would replace them with this same tire next year. BTW: I have never had to put air in them in seven years, and they’ve hit a few curbs.

  12. I installed 17 inch wheels on my Jaguar (it came with 19 inch) because I was looking for the type of sporting/luxury ride this car was engineered for when released in 1997. I finally settled on the Michelin Pilot MXM4 tires. In spite of the negative ratings, I did a deep dive on the positive ratings and there was page after page of very satisfied drivers from multiple luxury makes. With that information,I decided this was the tire for my Jaguar. After only 100 miles, it is crystal clear to me a made the right choice. The car feels so much more planted than the Pirelli Cinturato P7’s that were on the car before. The bobbing effect is gone and is replaced with a precise handling and steering especially at high speeds. These tires are quiet, comfortable and great looking. My Road Force numbers were 9,9,9 and 12. My Weight balance was .25,.25,1.0, 2.0. Michelin provides a 30 day exchange if you do not like them and there is a $70.00 rebate until 4/21/18. Go for it!

  13. This tire would be okay, but if you live somewhere that has the least bit of snow…DON’T BUY!!! Dangerous ride if you do! I had an SUV that I was scared to drive due to the bad performance in the snow!!

  14. In Febuary 20016 I actually bought a whole set of “used” tires from a local resident because the ones I had on previously were terrible to drive on. I didn’t have a lot of money and by a miracle, I got the whole set for $150! The treads were great, looking almost new. I had them put on, and I was amazed at how quiet they were and the comfort of the ride even at high speeds (up to 90mph). I don’t drive much on snow, but on wet conditions, the tires did well, and on dry roads were excellent. If you ask me, these tires are a no brainer for comfort and quietness. Just make sure to keep them aligned, balanced, rotated regularly and they will last for years.

  15. Bought my Acura TSX as a lease return with 55,000 miles on it. Michelins looked to be in such good shape, I thought maybe they were replaced by the first owner. I realize now that these puppies can go the distance! I am at almost 97,000 miles (156,000 km) and I’m nearing the wear bars at last. These are good handlers in the dry, and passable in the wet. Recent hydroplaning incident has me looking at new rubber, though. Light snow is do-able, but anything over a few inches has me leaving it in the garage and taking transit to work. One thing I’m really impressed with is the tires’ quiet demeanour, even when it’s close to used up. Have to admire the design and construction. However, these will be replaced with Sport A/S 3+ tires because I’m looking for more traction in the wet. Weather events these days are getting nastier!

  16. Great tire that came standard on our 2012 AWD Charger RT. Have about 61,000 miles on them and they are ready to be replaced. I was not the best at getting them rotated regularly and they still held up nice. Pretty good in the snow and ice. Overall great tire.

  17. These tires came on my RWD Charger and the reason I suspect so many manufacturers use these from the factory is because of how quiet and comfortable the ride is on them, good way to make your new purchase feel nice. Other than that these tires have been pretty terrible, especially factoring in the ridiculous price. Perfect conditions and they do a decent job but during heavy rain there was more than a few times the rear end stepped out and two memorable hydroplane instances. More than a 1/2″ of snow? Fuhggeddaboutit. Absolutely useless though to be fair they weren’t really designed for snow, make sure you have a set of winter tires when getting these!

  18. I have been driving Mercedes and BMW’s hard since 1985. I’ve owned 5 Mercedes E’s, G’s and C’s. I bought this E320 4MATIC for my elderly mother to replace her Nissan. After buying the car I drove it from the SF Bay Area to her home in western Kentucky with my family. We took the longest twisting scenic route through the Rockies and I definitely put the car and these tires through their paces hard. At home my wife and I have a 2016 and a 2018 Mercedes both with much more expensive rubber. However I am frankly shocked at all aspects of these tires. Despite my pretty much shameless and wanton abuse the tires are performing remarkably well. They show zero wear and I have thrown them around some of the most challenging roads in the country. I was concerned at first because of the mixed reviews. However they’re handling far better than many other tires I’ve owned. We live in the mountains in California and so burn through tires pretty quickly. These tires are awesome for touring and exceptionally quiet as well. These tires are frankly made for a Mercedes sports sedan and are capable and comfortable on dry straight ways as well as twisting mountains roads and rain. On the way east we were hit with severe weather: sudden downpours and flooded highways. At one point there was standing water and a truck next to us was having control problems in the water on the highway. The tires gripped the road well with zero hydroplaning. The rain and splashing from other vehicles was so bad on a mountain passthat we briefly lost visibility. I’m very thankful for the high quality and wet weather performance of these tires. These aren’t track tires but frankly they’re far higher performing than most people are giving them credit for.

  19. 2013 Buick LaCrosse AWD with 71000 on the original set of tires. They have looked like they’ve needed replacing for a year, but honestly, they still grip well in rain. I’m actually surprised that they still have the grip they do. We live sub-urban and drive about 5 miles of country road before we hit the stop lights of the town. Like everything with that Buick, these tires support everything that is smooth, quiet and comfortable. I’m not going to try to get any more out of these during the next winter season. You win, Michelin. I’m buying a replacement set – I don’t know how I could get as lucky with a different set.

  20. Shocked when these tires are at the wear bars after only 20k miles. Looking at specs, this is the expected lifespan in my use case. This is a daily driver, fair amount of stop and go, no freeway/interstate to speak of, mostly state/county roads going from stop light to stop light. Average speed of 35 mph. Different size tires in front/rear seems to cut life of these in half according to manufacturer’s documentation.

  21. I’ll start by saying that I haven’t experienced very many other sets of tires, as these came on the first car that I bought. So far, the car has just over 84,000 miles on it, and I’ve just now been told that I will need new tires soon. They still have some life on them, but the fact that I’ve gotten as much use out of them, I’d say they were totally worth it. I’d say I started to notice some slippage taking off from a dead stop in the rain around 40,000 miles. I’ve never had an issue with snow and these tires until the past 10,000 miles. I would recommend them to anyone who feels like dropping that kind of money for tires, but I feel I can get just as good of a tire for a lower price.

  22. I live by Chicago, Illinois and I just bought these tires last month. Some people reviewed them as being bad in snow and ice, but I have to strongly disagree! These tires are great in snow and ice and well as slick conditions at high speed on highways & tollways. Thanks Michelin!!
